Quarantine
Introduction
During the pandemic I started keeping a visual journal. This piece was a collage of drawings and invented scenes of people reacting with mixed emotions to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Process
This started as an experiment to blend scenes together and anchor them with natural elements. I used an armature to ensure focal points and that active parts of the scene guide the viewer through the composition. After sketching on scrap paper and journals, I compiled the drawings with plant references in Procreate for iPad. From there, I lined everything leaving space for color fill detail. I used a subdued warm palette to bring some natural elements to what felt like a very sterile time. This is one of my favorite pieces I've created.
